Lich Gate Concerts presents its summer concert on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 4 pm, in the air-conditioned sanctuary of Christ Trinity Church, 180 Main St., in Sheffield.
In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, Artistic Director Jorge Ávila has curated a brilliant program, the core of which features movements from works for String Quartet by 19th- and 20th-century American composers, CHARLES IVES, SAMUEL BARBER, and FLORENCE PRICE. These are bookended by European composers from the Classical and Romantic periods, including JOSEPH HAYDN’s String Quartet in G Major, Op. 15, No. 5 and ALEXANDER BORODIN’s String Quartet in D Major, No. 2.
Our New York-based artists include Artistic Director Jorge Àvila, Violin I; Rachel Handman, Violin II; Orlando Wells, Viola; and Sarah Hewitt-Roth, Cello.
